El Hit Parade de América showcases the top 20 Regional Mexican Songs of the week as listed on the Billboard charts. The show also includes interviews with the music industry’s most popular artists and its popular segment, “La Ventana Musical,” which introduces new music every week. The countdown showcases top hits in all popular Regional Mexican flavors, including Banda, Norteña, and Ranchera.
The show is hosted by Javier Romero, one of the most recognized radio and television personalities in the U.S. Hispanic market. El Hit Parade de América has been one of the most successful weekly Spanish language countdown programs in the nation for over 13 years.
Javier Romerois the co-host of “El Desayuno Musical”, the top morning radio show in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market for over a decade. With over 30 years of experience in the media industry, he has participated in a wide variety of successful programs and commercial campaigns throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
Additionally, Mr. Romero has hosted “El Hit Parade de América” for over 10 years, giving him exposure to more than 60 radio markets across the country. For the last 16 years he has also participated on “Sábado Gigante”, the longest running variety TV show in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records, and a Saturday night tradition for Hispanic America.
Mr. Romero has participated in dozens of commercials and marketing campaigns for National brands, including American Airlines, Cingular Wireless, Aunt Jemima, Rice-A-Roni, PCA, Thermacare, Toyota, Kraft, and many more.
Throughout his outstanding career, Mr. Romero has been honored with numerous awards and distinctions, including “DJ of the Year” (1992-1995) by Mi Casa Magazine, the “Hispanic Achievement Award” by the Hispanic Heritage Council, the “Radio Personality of the Year” award by Radioandtelevision.com; the “ACCA” and “ACRIM” awards, and the “Univision Radio Personality of the Year” award. Mr. Romero has also volunteered and sponsored numerous charities, including La Liga Contra el Cancer, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center. He has also hosted telethons for children-related causes in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador and Chile.
